Anti-DCD, CT (Dermcidin, Preproteolysin, Survival-promoting Peptide, DCD-1, DSEP, AIDD)

DCD is a secreted protein that is subsequently processed into mature peptides of distinct biological activities. The C-terminal peptide is constitutively expressed in sweat and has antibacterial and antifungal activities. The N-terminal peptide, also known as diffusible survival evasion peptide, promotes neural cell survival under conditions of severe oxidative stress. A glycosylated form of the N-terminal peptide may be associated with cachexia (muscle wasting) in cancer patients. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry, Western Blot and Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry (FFPE): 1:50-1:100, Western Blot: 1:1000, Flow Cytometry: 1:10-1:50, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
