Anti-COX-2 (Cyclooxygenase-2, PGHS 2, Prostaglandin Endoperoxide Synthase-2, PHS 2)

Cyclooxygenase (COX) catalyzes the first step in the biosynthesis of prostaglandins (PGs), thromboxanes, and prostacyclins: the conversion of arachidonic acid to PGH2. Discoveries of the induction of COX by a variety of stimuli such as phorbol esters, lipopolysaccharides, and cytokines led to the hypothesis that the inducible form of COX, COX-2, is responsible for the biosynthesis of PGs under acute inflammatory conditions. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunofluorescence: 1:200, Western Blot: 1:200 , Immunohistochemistry (FFPE): 1:80 Requires HIER using sodium citrate buffer pH6.0 prior to staining., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
