NEDD8 (recombinant human)

Protein Construction: Recombinant Human Neural precursor cell expressed developmentally down-regulated protein 8 is produced by our E.coli expression system and the target gene encoding Met1-Gly76 is expressed. Sequence: Met1-Gly76. Endotoxin: < 1.0 EU per µg as determined by the LAL method. Apparent Molecular Mass: 9 kDa. Protein function: Human NEDD8 shares 60% amino acid sequence identity to ubiquitin. The only known substrates of NEDD8 modification are the cullin subunits of SCF ubiquitin E3 ligases. The NEDDylation of cullins is critical for the recruitment of E2 to the ligase complex, thus facilitating ubiquitin conjugation. NEDD8 modification has therefore been implicated in cell cycle progression and cytoskeletal regulation. Protein function: Ubiquitin-like protein which plays an important role in cell cycle control and embryogenesis. Covalent attachment to its substrates requires prior activation by the E1 complex UBE1C-APPBP1 and linkage to the E2 enzyme UBE2M. Attachment of NEDD8 to cullins activates their associated E3 ubiquitin ligase activity, and thus promotes polyubiquitination and proteasomal degradation of cyclins and other regulatory proteins.
