Fibroblast Growth Factor-basic (FGF-b or FGF-2) is a heparin binding growth factor which stimulates the proliferation of a wide variety of cells including mesenchymal, neuroectodermal and endothelial cells. FGF-b also exerts a potent angiogenic activity in vivo. Recombinant protein corresponding to aa134-288 of human soluble basic FGF, expressed in E. coli (NM_002006). Biological Activity: Measured by its ability to stimulate proliferation of NIH3T3 cells. The ED50 of this effect is between 0.1-1ng/ml. , Applications: , Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
