Althiomycin

Althiomycin is a polyketide synthase-derived thiazole antibiotic originally isolated from S. althioticus. It is active against Gram-positive bacteria, including S. aureus, S. epidermidis, and S. pyogenes (MICs = 25, 25, and 3.1 µg/ml, respectively).
