Anti-PUMA (p53 Upregulated Modulator of Apoptosis, BCL2 Binding Component 3, BCL-2 Binding Component

A novel p53 inducible pro-apoptotic gene was identified recently and designated PUMA (for p53 upregulated modulator of apoptosis) in human and mouse. The PUMA gene encodes two BH3 domain-containing proteins termed PUMA-alpha and PUMA-beta. PUMA proteins bind Bcl-2, localize to the mitochondria, and induce cytochrome c release and apoptosis in response to p53. PUMA may be a direct mediator of p53-induced apoptosis. Positive Control: Jurkat or NIH 3T3 cell lysate , Applications: , Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
