Presenilin (PS1/PS2) complexes are responsible for the intramembrane gamma-secretase cleavage of the beta-amyloid precursor protein. Presenilin enhancer 2 (PEN2) is an essential cofactor involved in physically interacting with PS1 and is necessary for gamma-secretase activity. Endogenous PEN2 preferentially interacts with PS1 holoprotein. Down-regulation of PEN2 expression abolishes the endoproteolysis of PS1 and overexpression promotes the production of PS1 fragments. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C.
