Anti-Piwi-like Protein 1 (PIWIL1)

Piwi-like protein 1 is also known as PIWIL1 (Swiss Prot: Q96J94). It may be component of some RISC (RNA-induced silencing) complexes, which plays a role in spermatogenesis and in germ cell production, proliferation, and maintenance. RISC complexes mediate RNA cleavage and translational silencing. Overexpression may cause malignant germline development. PIWIL1 may be associated with proliferating activity of cancer cells. When suppressed, it can inhibit the growth of gastric cancer cells and induce cell cycle arrest in G2/M phase. It also inhibits endoribonuclease DICER1 activity. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 0.03-0.125ug/ml, Western Blot: 1ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. , Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
