Anti-APG10L (Ubiquitin-like-conjugating Enzyme ATG10, Autophagy-related Protein 10, APG10-like, ATG1

Autophagy is a process for the bulk degradation of cytosolic compartments by lysosomes/vacuoles. The formation of autophagosomes involves a dynamic rearrangement of the membrane for which two ubiquitin-like modifications (the conjugation of APG12p and the modification of a soluble form of MAP-LC3 to a membrane-bound form) are essential. APG10L is an E2-like enzyme involved in two ubiquitin-like modifications essential for autophagosome formation, ATG12-ATG5 conjugation and modification of a soluble form of MAP-LC3 (MAP1LC3A), a homolog of yeast Apg8, to a membrane-bound form. The protein is ubiquitously expressed. Human APG10L gene is localized on chromosome 5q14.2. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 2-6ug/ml, Immunohistochemistry (formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 5ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Brain, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
