Anti-3-dehydroquinate dehydratase (AroD)

Involved in the third step of the chorismate pathway, which leads to the biosynthesis of aromatic amino acids. Catalyzes the cis-dehydration of 3-dehydroquinate (DHQ) and introduces the first double bond of the aromatic ring to yield 3-dehydroshikimate. The reaction involves the formation of an imine intermediate between the keto group of 3-dehydroquinate and the epsylon-amino group of Lys-170 at the active site. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
