NupherinTM Transfection Reagent

  • Increases transfection efficiencies 10-100 fold

  • Compatible with common transfection protocols

  • Requires no special equipment

NupherinTM dramatically enhances the performance of commercially available cationic lipids to allow high-efficiency lipofection (10-40%) of neuronal, ganglion and other “difficult to transfect” cells. Efficient lipofection is limited by the ability of transfected DNA to enter the nucleus – a particular obstacle in nondividing or slow dividing cells like neurons. Nupherin, a peptide based reagent that combines a non-classical nuclear localization sequence (M9) with a nucleotide binding domain, helps to transport DNA into the nucleus. Nupherin is simple to use - just incubate Nupherin with your DNA  for 15 minutes prior to lipofection.

Nupherin increases transfection efficiency in NTera2 cells 40-fold. Magnification 20x

Neuroscience
Gabapentin (Cat. # CA-234)
A GABA analog which does not act at GABA receptors but inhibits L-type calcium channels via binding to the alpha2-delta subunit.  Ligands acting at the alpha2-delta subunit lead to anticonvulsant, anxiolytic and neuropathic pain relieving actions.

Gabapentin-lactam (Cat. # KC-160)
Gabapentin-lactam but not gabapentin reduces protein aggregates and improves motor performance in a transgenic mouse model of Huntington’s disease.

Ethyl Ferulate (Cat. # FR-116)
Induces heme oxygenase-1 and protects rat neurons against oxidative stress.

Maprotiline•HCl (Cat. # AR-111)
Selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor and clinically useful antidepressant.  Blocks apoptosis of medium spiny neurons in a mouse model of Huntington's disease.

Proteasome

 20S Immunoproteasome (Cat. # PW9645)
Upon stimulation with IFN-gamma,
the three active beta subunits, beta1 (Y), beta2 (Z) and beta5 (X) are exchanged to their immunocounterparts, namely beta1i (LMP-2), beta2i (MECL-1) and beta5i (LMP-7), resulting in altered substrate specificity. This highly purified material has been isolated from human spleen and has been characterized by both SDS-PAGE and by fluorogenic assay using peptide substrates.
Ac-Arg-Leu-Arg-AMC (Cat. # AW9785)
Useful for assaying the trypsin-like activity of purified proteasomes.
NEDD8

UbcH12 (NEDD8 E2 conjugating enzyme) (Cat. # UW9145)
Active, full-length UbcH12, including an N-terminal His6-tag, produced in E. coli.

NUB1/NUB1L, Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody (Cat. # PW9685)
NUB1 (NEDD8 Ultimate Buster-1) is a negative regulator of the NEDD8 conjugation system and recruits NEDD8 and its conjugates to the proteasome for degradation. Useful for NEDD8 expression studies. Species reactivity: human; Application: WB.

NEDP1, Sheep Polyclonal Antibody (Cat. # PW9775)
NEDP1 is a human NEDD8-specific protease. Species reactivity: human; Application: WB.
Ubiquitin

USP15, Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody (Cat. # PW9795)
Ubiquitin specific protease, associated with the COP9 Signalosome. Species reactivity: human and mouse.  Applications: WB.

hHR23B-derived UBA2 Domain, Agarose Conjugate (Cat. # UW9440)
Useful for immunoprecipitation and affinity purification of multi-ubiquitinylated proteins and mixtures of ubiquitin-conjugates.

Ub+1, Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody (Cat. # PW9780)
Ub+1 is a novel form of ubiquitin produced by molecular misreading and found at elevated levels in the brains of Alzheimer's disease patients. Species reactivity: human.  Applications: WB.
